North Carolina Writing Assessment

As you know from previous communication this year, the Department of Public Instruction for North Carolina has the seventh grade writing assessment under construction.  Various counties around the state are piloting the new writing assessment adventure.  We happen to be piloting the adventure ourselves.  Students will participate in a digital format of the North Carolina Writing Assessment Pilot during the week of January 12-16.  We will take our assessement on Friday, January 23, 2009.  We write daily in class, so the students are well prepared to participate.   This will be an on-demand writing task where a prompt will be given to all students taking the writing assessment pilot.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
