Welcome Starfish!
August 20, 2008 at 10:56 pm | In Teacher Tid-bits | 49 CommentsI am so excited to meet each and every one of you. We will enjoy a fantastic adventure in language arts this year! I implement the Reader’s and Writer’s Workshop model of language arts instruction, so be ready to chart unkown waters! You are welcome to post a comment and tell me a little bit about you. Be sure you only use your first name (a last initial is okay). Remember to write clearly and as well as possible as this site is available to the world wide web! The countdown nears completion… see you Monday! Feel free to explore the blog checking out Radical Readers, Breaking News, and Sport Speak and so forth.
Parents, check out the Parent letter link under Breaking News! If you are interested in wish list items for Starfish language arts, star sticky notes are available in class. The students may select the item that they are interested in acquiring for our learning community.
I look foward to being your partner in education.

Hello Mrs.Lancaster! I am not thrilled that we are back at school but I am very excited to be in your homeroom.(Don’t tell the other teachers!) I am looking forward to this school year and hoping that it was as great as it was last year. Cassidy tells me some great things about you and I hope that they are all true. I will see you at school tomorrow. Okay, bye!

Hey Mrs. Lancaster!!,
I think this is going to be an awesome school year in your class! I thought it was fun today in your class. It was much less stressful today when I came into your class. Because it was the first day it was a little stressful. Will we do Gab Blab all the time or again this year or something like it? Oh, and I wanted to ask you, what do you think my nickname could be??? Okay, comment back! See you tomorrmow!!!!
-Quentin D.
Comment by Quentin D. — August 25, 2008 #
Quentin,
I am glad you liked class and found it less stressful. First days can always be hectic, which is one of the reasons I chose Bob for our theme music. We will have Gab Slab most days. Your nick name has to fit you and your personality, so we will keep our thinking caps on full blast. I’ll see you tomorrow too, but we will have an assembly during our core 4 class.

Hi Mrs. Lancaster. My top 3 books are……
1. Twilight/item # 81
2. Fairest/item # 25
3. Kickoff/item # 47
I have read the first two but liked them because it was my kindof book. Adventure and mystery. The third one I have never read but I like soccer so it is probably a great book.
Comment by amber w — August 27, 2008 #
my favorite book in the book adventure would probabley be Twilight, i am looking forward to read it, my second is the harry potter book series, though i have already read them all. and for last i would probabley want to read the sisterhood of the traveling pants, but i should probabley start with the first book. well gotta go.
